This morning’s radar shows the Puget Sound Convergence zone still in effect. However, most of the energy is directed south of Stevens Pass. With some luck, these snow showers will last for a few more hours. Dry conditions with occasional clearing will begin this afternoon/evening.

Long-range: A prolonged dry spell with seasonally normal temperatures will begin developing tomorrow and continue through the middle of next week.

Well, so far so good in dodging the rain. According to Tyler C's birthday jedi force - "there will be no rain today".  

A strong cold front will reach the mountains tonight producing falling temperatures, high winds and more heavy snow.

Long-range: Cool northwest flow will continue producing snow through early Friday morning. High pressure building off of the coast will begin to dry things out on Friday with the weekend looking dry and warmer.

 The last day of winter will be mostly dry with thickening clouds. Spring will come in strong with a vigorous storm. The approaching warm front will bring snow changing to mixed rain and snow and then back to snow by the end the day tomorrow. Moderate to heavy snow will continue into Thursday morning. Snow totals by 4am Thursday could exceed 2’.

Long-range: Snow will continue in the mountains through the end of the week. High pressure begins to build off shore on Friday, producing a dry and potentially clear weekend. Long-term models differ on the effect of the offshore ridging, so confidence is low for the weekend outlook.

Trend and Timing:
The leading edge of the approaching warm front is expected to reach the mountains later this afternoon/evening (after 4pm). Snow is expected to change to mixed rain and snow early in the morning. Rain and or mixed rain and snow will be possible below 4500’ through noon tomorrow. It will all change back to snow later in the day as the Puget Sound Convergence Zone kicks in to action.

The snow will taper off this afternoon as a weak ridge of high pressure passes over the mountains. Tomorrow will be dry and partly sunny.

Long-range: A warm front will approach the mountains on Tuesday night bringing rising freezing levels and another round of precipitation. There is a possibility of some rain on Wednesday changing to snow on Thursday/Friday.

 A cool and unstable air mass, streaming in from the northwest, will keep snow falling in the mountains through the weekend.  Things are shaping up nicely for some great skiing during the next 2-4 days. 

Long-range: Snow will continue through the middle of the week. The week is expected to end dry and warmer under building high pressure.

Light mixed rain and snow will continue today. Temperatures will slowly descend through the night with snow ramping up tomorrow. It appears to be a good weekend of snow developing.

Long-range: Snow will fall through the weekend with some nice accumulation possible by Sunday morning. Snow totals by Sunday morning could exceed a foot of new snow. Snow showers are expected to continue through the first part of the new week.

Rain in the Cascade Mountains today below 6000’.  High pressure will push the moisture north tomorrow for a bit of dry weather.  Freezing levels begin to fall below 5000’ on Thursday with a return of snow possible Friday/Saturday.

Mountain Weather Forecast -Time: 0900

Hopefully we will squeeze a few more inches of snow out of this before it dries up later today. The atmosphere will begin to stabilize under rising barometric pressure this afternoon. Dry and clear weather will start tonight and last through most of the weekend.

Long-range: Warm southwest flow is expected to generate high freezing levels and a chance of rain on Sunday and Monday.

Mountain Weather Forecast -Time: 0900

 This particular system is referred to as having a “wrap-around” effect. The moisture is tracking up from the south and driven toward the mountains by easterly flow. More snow tends to occur in Leavenworth and on the lower shoulders of the mountains than the Pass, which was the case last night and this morning. Snow will hopefully make it to the higher ridges today as the moisture content increases through the day.

Long-range: High pressure will begin to break up the clouds tomorrow night with Friday and Saturday trending dry and clear. A warm front arrives on Sunday/Monday which will likely produce rising freezing levels and a chance of some light precipitation.

Long-range: Snow is expected on Wednesday/Thursday. High pressure will cause dry and warmer weather by the end of the week. At this point, it appears that the dry and warm weather will continue into the weekend.

Long-range: After some nice new snow on Sunday morning, high pressure will cause a dry and partly sunny start to the week.
