3/3/2008 Weather Discussion: Snow will continue through the night. High pressure will build once again tomorrow to bring dry weather to the mountains. Long-term models show the blocking ridge keeping the rest of the week dry. A chance of more snow is possible on the weekend. Forecast from Monday 4pm to Tuesday 4am Precipitation .75 in. Water 8-10 in. Snow Temperatures Low 26 High 30 Winds 10-30 W/NW Forecast for Tuesday 4am to 4pm Precipitation Lt .25 in. Water 1-3 in. Snow Temperatures Low 24 High 32 Winds 0-5 NW TRENDS AND TIMING Precipitation: Snow should continue until 4am tomorrow- could see some periods of heavy snow enhanced by convergence flow. Building high pressure will dry things out rather quickly tomorrow morning. Freezing levels: The freezing levels are expected to drop as cold air moves in from the North. Freezing levels could touch 2000’ by 7am tomorrow. Temps are then expected to slowly rise to reach the freezing mark by Wednesday. Winds: Models are showing some high winds associated with today’s passing front - could see W/NW wind gust to 40+ over night. Wind should ramp up sometime after 2pm today and then taper off after 4am tomorrow. JDM
