STEVENS PASS MOUNTAIN WEATHER

Hello,

I will begin my daily forecast regiment next week.

In the mean time. This NW flow pattern that we have been experiencing is expected to continue. However, there doesn’t seem to be much in the way of significant storms riding on the NW jet.  We will continue to see passing systems producing a few inches of snow now and then - but no real producers yet . The temperature regime is trending on the cool side, which should keep freezing levels at or just below pass level. In other words – no major snow is expected for the next 6-10 days.

On the climate front. La Nina conditions strengthened during the month of Oct. Hence the cool NW flow pattern we are currently experiencing. The "girl" is expected to strengthen through the Fall/winter. Long range forecast are basically mirroring last year’s pattern. Early snow, less active late Dec/jan, snow Feb – April.  All will be revealed in time.
