Mountain Weather Forecast -Time: 0845

 Discussion: Round two. The next aggressive front is still on schedule to bring heavy snow and high winds to the mountains tonight and tomorrow.

Long-term: Cold NW flow will keep snow falling in the mountains through first part of the week. Freezing levels may be as low as sea level by Tuesday.

24hr Accumulative Precipitation Totals Starting at Noon Today:
Water by 4am = +-1.5 Snow equivalent = 10-14

Total inches of water by noon tomorrow = 2”
Total inches of snow by noon tomorrow = 12-24”

Trend and Timing:
Snow will intensify through the day. The Puget Sound Convergence Zone will likely enhance the snow fall rates during the early morning hours.

Trend and Timing:
Freezing levels will spike up tonight and then fall back down early tomorrow morning.

Base: 5-10 E shifting W and strengthening
Ridge Top: 5-15 E shifting W

Trend and Timing:
East flow should remain intact until midnight or so. A high wind event is expected with the passing of the front. +50 mph winds above 4500’ should be anticipated during the early morning hours. High ridge top winds will remain strong through most of the day tomorrow.
