Mountain Weather Forecast -Time: 1045

 Discussion: Today and tonight will be mostly dry with a few brief snow showers likely. The snow machine will crank up tomorrow as two frontal systems prepare to hit the PNW over the weekend. The first wave of is expected to hit tomorrow afternoon with the bigger of the two arriving on Sunday/Monday.

Long-term: Storm totals from Saturday noon to 4am Monday are currently calculating out to be in the neighborhood of 1.5-2.5” of water or 15-24” of snow. Long range models disagree on what is to come beyond Monday, so I will leave that for following model runs.

Total inches of water by noon tomorrow = .25
Total inches of snow by noon tomorrow = 1-3

Trend and Timing:
Some light snow showers are expected today with little snow accumulation expected. Snow will increase tomorrow afternoon.

Temperatures will continue their descent tonight. Low freezing levels will continue for these few storms.

Trend and Timing:
The winds won’t be much of a fact with the first front. The winds will shift westerly and strengthen late tomorrow night and early Sunday morning.
