The last day of winter will be mostly dry with thickening clouds. Spring will come in strong with a vigorous storm. The approaching warm front will bring snow changing to mixed rain and snow and then back to snow by the end the day tomorrow. Moderate to heavy snow will continue into Thursday morning. Snow totals by 4am Thursday could exceed 2’.
Long-range: Snow will continue in the mountains through the end of the week. High pressure begins to build off shore on Friday, producing a dry and potentially clear weekend. Long-term models differ on the effect of the offshore ridging, so confidence is low for the weekend outlook.

Trend and Timing:
The leading edge of the approaching warm front is expected to reach the mountains later this afternoon/evening (after 4pm). Snow is expected to change to mixed rain and snow early in the morning. Rain and or mixed rain and snow will be possible below 4500’ through noon tomorrow. It will all change back to snow later in the day as the Puget Sound Convergence Zone kicks in to action.

Trend and Timing:
Freezing levels will slowly rise through the night reaching 4500’ around 5am tomorrow. Freezing levels will fall in the wake of the following cold front midday tomorrow. Temperature are expected to plummet into the upper teens by early Thursday morning.
