MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 0900 Tuesday

The Snapshot: Abundant sunshine with crisp temperatures will be the normal pattern for a few days.

The Science: As expected, high pressure is building over the PNW.  Cold arctic air is arriving from the northeast.  This pattern will continue for most of the week.  Temperatures will continue to inch their way down as the cold air mass settles over the PNW.  Single digits can be anticipated for early morning lows.  Peak daytime temperatures could inch into the 20’s in the direct sun.

4-7day Long Range: long range models show a weak disturbance developing off the coast on Thursday.  This system is expected to stay offshore with just high clouds making it to the mountains.   Thus, the forecast for the weekend will remain dry for now.
