MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 1000 Sunday

The Snapshot: Wind, and wet heavy snow for the next 24-36hrs.  


The Science:  A warm front approaching the mountains this afternoon will keep the precipitation tap running through the night.  Temperatures will inch up, and the wind will increase with the passing of the front later today.   Freezing levels will be right around 4500’ so expect rain/heavy snow below Hogsback with heavy snow on the ridges. 
 

4-7day Long Range: High pressure begins to build Tuesday morning and will dominate the weather pattern with warm and dry conditions for the rest of the week.   Freezing levels could reach 7000’ by Wednesday.

Water by 4am = 1”  Snow = 5”-12” 
24hr total inches of water ending at noon tomorrow = 1.5 -2”
24hr total inches of snow ending at noon tomorrow =8”- 15”
 
Trend and Timing:
The moisture will continue to pour into the mountain through tomorrow.  Wet heavy snow below 4500’ with higher accumulations expected on the upper mountain.

Freezing will rise just above 4500’ this afternoon.  Surface temperatures will hover around 32f through tomorrow.
