MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 0900 Friday

The Snapshot: Snow showers will diminish today with clearing tonight and tomorrow. 

 
The Science:  This morning radar has snow continuing in the Hwy 2 convergence zone.  A few more inches of snow will be likely before the moisture gets cut off in a few hours. High pressure will drift east today producing clear and chilly weather for the weekend.  


4-7day Long Range: The high pressure begins to deteriorate on Wednesday of next week.  This will open the door for some systems to track through the PNW.  It is still too far out to have any confidence in the details on these late week storms, so stay tuned.

Water by 4am = .10  Snow equivalent = 0-1

Trends and Timing:
An extra inch or two may be likely this morning.  The precipitation will end this afternoon.  Dry through Sunday.

Trends and Timing
Temperatures will continue to fall under cool northerly flow for the next 24hrs.  Freezing levels begin to rise on late Saturday night/Sunday.

Winds will diminish and shift north today.   East flow develops over the weekend.
