MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 1030 Tuesday

The Snapshot: Round 7 starts today with more heavy snow for the mountains.  Snow continues through Thursday.

 
The Science:  Yet another warm front followed by a cold front will bring more snow and wind to the mountains today.  We all know the drill by now, rising temperature with heavy precipitation followed by dropping temperatures and continued snow showers.   Another front will arrives tomorrow night with more mountain snow. 

 
4-7day Long Range:  Friday appears to be a dry “rest” day with another system dropping in from the north over the weekend.

Water by 4am = 1” Snow = 10-14
24hr total inches of water ending at noon tomorrow = 1.5
24hr total inches of snow ending at noon tomorrow = +-15
 
Trend and Timing:
The snow will intensify today and continue through tomorrow.

Freezing levels will peak around 4500’ today.  Temperatures begin to fall with the passing of the cold front tonight.

Winds will pick up again this afternoon.  Watch for strong gusty winds this afternoon and evening.
