MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 0900 Wednesday

The Snapshot:  Breezy with intermittent snow showers today with increasing snow late tonight.

The Science:   This morning’s radar has snow showers tracking up the Skykomish River drainage.  These convergence showers will continue through most of the day.  The next frontal system will reach the mountains around midnight tonight for the last round of snow from this incredible storm cycle.     

 
4-7day Long Range:  The pattern begins to change tomorrow as weak high pressure builds off the western coast.   Friday will be dry with some weak systems making their way into the region over the weekend.

Water by 4am = .5-.75  Snow = 4-8
24hr total inches of water ending at noon tomorrow = .75 -1
24hr total inches of snow ending at noon tomorrow = 8-12
 
Trend and Timing:
Snow will intensify late tonight and continue through noon tomorrow.

Trends and Timing
Freezing levels will remain steady through the day today.  Temperatures will spike up early tomorrow morning with the passing of the front and then fall back down through the day.

Trend and Timing:
Winds will mellow a bit today but continue to be gusty.  High winds can be expected with the passing of the front early tomorrow morning.
