MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 0900 Thursday

 
The Snapshot:  Windy with moderate intermittent snow shower will continue through the day, similar to yesterday.  Snow will diminish tonight with light snow showers and sun breaks tomorrow. 

 
The Science:  Weak high pressure is currently building off the NW coast.  This will shift the flow pattern to cooler NW flow and cut off the snow gun tonight.   Light snow showers will linger into tomorrow with partly sunny conditions.  Another system tracks in from the north Saturday afternoon for some fresh snow to greet us Sunday morning.

 
4-7day Long Range:  Next week will start out with a chance of snow with another system on Wednesday/Thursday.

Water by 4am = .5  Snow =4-6
24hr total inches of water ending at noon tomorrow = .5 -.75
24hr total inches of snow ending at noon tomorrow = 5-8
 
Trend and Timing:
Snow will gradually taper off through the night with light showers expected through noon tomorrow.

Freezing level: 4000’    2000’
 
Trends and Timing
Freezing levels will fall in the wake of today’s cold front.  Temperatures will remain nice and cool through the weekend.

Trend and Timing:
Gusty NW winds will slowly decrease through the night.
