MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 1000 Tuesday


The Snapshot:  Light snow showers ending today.  A clearing trend begins this afternoon with extremely low temperatures for the rest of the week.
 

The Science:  Cold arctic air is currently streaming in from the northeast.  The clouds, and thus the snow, will begin to dissipate as the cold and dry air mass settles over the region.  Warming trend begins on Friday. 

4-7day Long Range:  A low pressure system developing in the Gulf of Alaska will bring rising freezing levels (+-4000’) and moisture to the PNW during the weekend.  Stay tuned as those details develop.

Trend and Timing:
The light snow showers will slowly taper off today. Dry conditions will persist through Friday.

Temperatures will struggle to make it out of double digits tomorrow and Thursdays.  Warmer on Friday.

East / off shore flow will strengthen today.  Expect strong, brisk easterly winds through late Thursday night.
