Time and Day: 1200 Wednesday

 The Snapshot:   It is sure nice to see the sun and feel a little warmth.  This dry period will last through the end of the week.    

The Science:  The low pressure system is now tracking south and directing most of its energy into California.   Therefore, the PNW will remain partly sunny and dry for the remainder of the week.  Temperatures will warm during the next few days under southerly flow aloft.   Cold arctic air arrives on Friday.

 
4-7day Long Range:  The week will finish dry with a chance of some light snow over the weekend.  A cold snap is expected over the weekend with single digits lows probable.

Freezing levels will reach 5000’ tomorrow and then gradually fall back down late tomorrow night.   Temperatures will continue to fall into the weekend.

Trend and Timing:
Easterly winds will diminish today and shift westerly tomorrow.  East flow returns on Friday.
