MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 0900 Saturday

 
The Snapshot:  Nice alpenglow on the mountains this morning, don’t-ya think?   Clouds will move in later today with a chance of some light snow tonight.  The sun returns tomorrow for a few days of spring like weather.

 
The Science: A weak system tracking across the northern portion of the state will drop some light snow on Stevens Pass tonight.  The high pressure ridge reforms tomorrow for a few days of dry and warmer weather.  

 
4-7day Long Range:  A large low pressure system developing offshore will begin to send wet systems into the region starting on Tuesday.  The rest of the week will be active with a chance of rain and snow throughout.

16hr Water by 4am tomorrow  = < .25  Snow = 1-3
24hr water by noon tomorrow = .25   Snow = 1-3
 
Trend and Timing:
Light snow will begin to fall late tonight and then taper off early tomorrow morning.  Tomorrow will be mostly dry.
 
 
Base Temp and Freezing levels: 
Low: 24   High: 32
Freezing level: +- 4000’
 
Trends and Timing
Today and tomorrow, freezing levels will rise to 4000’ during the day and then fall back to around 3000’ at night.   The sun may push surface temperatures above freezing during the day.

Ridge Top: 0-10 S
 
Trend and Timing:
Winds will shift from E to S to W through the next 24hrs.   East flow develops on Monday.
