MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 0900 Monday

The Snapshot:  Today will be dry and warm.  A series of wet systems will begin to batter the PNW starting tomorrow.  Next week will be stormy with rain and snow.

The Science:  A strong low pressure system creeping towards the western coast will begin sending a series of systems through the PNW tomorrow. Freezing levels will bounce between 4000’ and 5000’ as these fronts come and go.   Sound familiar?   Therefore, the general layout for the week will be rain tomorrow, snow on Wednesday and Thursday, then back to rain on Friday.

4-7day Long Range: Long range models show this pattern continuing into the weekend.  If this holds true (which is unlikely) snow can be expected on Saturday.

Precipitation:
16hr Water by 4am tomorrow  = 0  Snow = 0
24hr water by noon tomorrow = .25  Snow = 0-2

Trend and Timing:
The first wave of moisture is expected to reach the mountain after 4am tomorrow morning. Mixed rain and snow with periods of just rain can be anticipated tomorrow.
