MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 0930 Wednesday

The Snapshot:  Snow changing to rain today.  Rain is expected to continue through early Friday morning.

The Science: The approaching warm front slowed its approach this morning, delaying the transition from snow to rain.  That switch is still expected as warm air filters into the mountains through the day.  Several fronts imbedded in the unstable westerly flow will keep the moisture pumping through the region into Friday morning.  Freezing levels will stay above Pass level until early Friday morning.  Therefore, expect most of the precipitation to be rain with snow showers possible Friday morning.

4-7day Long Range:   A short live high pressure ridge passes over Friday night producing an ok Saturday.  Another mixed rain and snow event is scheduled for Saturday night into early Sunday morning.

Precipitation:
16hr Water by 4am tomorrow  = .25-.5    Snow = 0-2

Trend and Timing:
Light snow will change to rain today.  Moderate rain is expected tomorrow.
