0630 Friday:
The Snapshot: Warmer with light snow today. Dry tomorrow, heavy snow on Sunday, rain
Sunday night, snow on Monday.
The Science: This morning’s radar has spotty showers along the
western slopes of the Cascades and the leading edge of an approaching cold front
just north of Victoria BC. Freezing
levels have risen with temperatures near 320f but will fall with the arrival of the cold
front later today. An upper-level ridge passing between systems
will produce a dry and partly cloudy day tomorrow.
Long
Range: The main event begins on
Sunday as a strong frontal system arrives.
This storm has it all, snow, rain, high winds, rain changing back to
snow… As of now, 2-3” of water is
calculated between 4am Sunday and 4am Monday.
It starts out with 6-10” of snow changing to heavy rain Sunday night,
and then back to snow Monday
morning. Timing is still up for grabs –
A storm update will be posted later today with fresher data.
