MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

0600 Monday:

The Snapshot: Rain  ending later today, dry and warm through Thursday. 

The Science: High pressure centered over Idaho/Oregon will lift north today drying out the PNW starting tonight.  A warm air mass will also settle over the region for a very mild start to January.
   
Impressive water equivalents from this storm: 9.75” of rain fell on the Olympic Mountains so far, it will likely top 10”. 

Long Range: A weak cold front will bring cooler air and a chance of some snow for the weekend.

Trend and Timing:
The heavy rain is expected to end this morning with diminishing precipitation throughout the day.
