Time and Day: 0630 Wednesday
The Snapshot: Snow ending today, snow changing to rain tomorrow,
heavy rain on Friday, snow showers for the weekend. Winds will be pesky this morning and ease up
tonight.
The Science: As the cold front move east of the mountains
this morning, snow will begin to diminish with +-3” of additional snow possible. Light snow showers will continue through this
afternoon. A warm front, pulling a large
fetch of water and warmer air will enter the region tomorrow night. Heavy rain with freezing levels +6500’ is
expected to start Thursday night and continue through early Saturday morning. Water
equivilant totals are impressive with this storm. The Cascades could receive over 5” of rain by
Saturday morning.
Long
Range: A cold air mass fills in
behind the rain on Saturday. This will likely change the rain to intermittent snow
showers for the remaining of the weekend.
