Time and Day: 0800 Tuesday
The Snapshot: Light snow showers today, increasing snow tonight
The Science: This morning’s radar has
light snow showers beginning to form in the mountains. The first of the advertised fronts approaching
the PNW will reach the mountain tonight with some
nice snow for Stevens Pass. The next
warmer and wetter front hits the western slopes tomorrow night with rising temperatures
and mixed rain and snow possible.
Things get interesting on Thursday
as a deep trough with and embedded cold
front pushes through. This feature will lower temperatures,
increase winds (no more east flow) and potentially develop the Puget Sound
Convergence zone.
New storm stats will be posted
later today.
Long Range: A strong warm front with an SW fetch of moisture will arrive over the
weekend with potential heavy mixed rain and snow. Very active weather
will continue into next week.
