Time and Day: 0630 Tuesday
The Snapshot:
Mostly dry today with snow developing this
afternoon. Snow and some wind tonight, drying
and clearing tomorrow. This active
weather pattern will continue into early next week.
The Science: A low pressure system developing off of the
Oregon coast will track north today, bringing with it, and cold front and some
snow for Stevens Pass tonight. Once the center
of the low makes it east of the state, winds will shift westerly. There will be a short-lived Puget Sound
Convergence possibility after midnight for some enhanced snow fall. Snow quickly diminishes tomorrow with light
showers and sun breaks.
The Long Range: A
strong warm front, with a long southwest fetch of moisture, will enter the
scene late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning. Freezing levels with this system are
currently reading around 5500’-6000’, so expect some rain to be in the conversation. The weekend appears to be mostly dry with
another system arriving early next week.
