MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day:  0700 Wednesday

The Snapshot: A drying trend will begin today and last through the upcoming weekend.  

The Science: Pressure gradients will weaken today as the low-pressure system off the Oregon coast drifts south.  High pressure building over the intermountain west will set up a split flow/blocking pattern for the PNW.   Cooler air will also begin to sink in during the next few days, lowering freezing levels back down to around 2000’. 

Long Range:   Dry, clearer and cooler weather can be expected for the next 3-5 days.

Trend and Timing:
A few remnant snow showers, mainly east of the crest, will be possible today.  Mostly dry for the remainder of the week.

Freezing level: +- 3500.'

Trends and Timing:
Temperatures will hover just below freezing, but could inch above with the aid of the sun at times.
