MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 0700 Wednesday

The Snapshot:  Light rain with mild temperatures today.  Prepare for a rather soggy end to the week with rain tomorrow and Friday.  Snow turning to rain expected over the weekend.

The Science: Satellite imagery has clouds moving in with light spotty rain showers falling along the Cascade Crest this morning.  The pattern will start to become more progressive today with a series of frontal system preparing to move through the region over the next several days.  Unfortunately, the air mass remains warm with freezing levels still above 5000’.  The temperatures will drop a bit as weak cold front moves through tonight but not far enough for snow.  A stronger warm front lifts north tomorrow night with moderate rain expected on Friday.    

The Long Range:  Cooler with snow possible on Saturday with another warm frontal system entering the area late Sunday afternoon.  As of now, rain is looking likely Sunday night and Monday.
