The Snapshot:
Rain switched to snow around midnight last night, giving Stevens Pass 3" by 4am. Light snow showers today with moderate snow tonight.
The Science:
A low pressure trough is currently moving ashore north of the OR/WA border. As it moves NE, strengthening westerly winds behind it will bring orographic snow showers tonight through Friday morning. The next, negatively tilted, upper level trough will bring a strong cold front across our forecast area Friday night.
The Long Range:
After Friday night's frontal passage, snow showers will end mid-day Saturday with cool temperatures. A break from the active weather will be seen Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning before another front arrives Sunday afternoon. Drier weather developing starting Monday.
