MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 1000 Saturday

The Snapshot:  Mostly dry and cool today with sun breaks,  more snow tomorrow night and Monday with dry and warmer weather setting up for the rest of the week.

The Science: A high-pressure ridge will produce mostly dry conditions with partial clearing through tomorrow morning.  A frontal system will approach the mountains tomorrow afternoon for another round of snow for Stevens Pass.  Snow showers are expected to continue Monday.

The Long Range:  High pressure begins to build over the region on Monday setting up a split flow (dry) weather pattern for most of next week.

Precipitation Ending at 4am:

Today 24hr water = .10 Snow = trace

Tomorrow’s 24hr water = .25-.5 snow = 3-5

Trend and Timing:
Mostly dry conditions will persist through noon or so tomorrow.  Snow arrives early afternoon.

Freezing level: +- 3500’

Trend and Timing:   
Freezing levels will hover around 3500’-4000’ through tomorrow.   The sun could push daytime temperatures to near freezing this afternoon.

Ridge Top: 0- 10

Trend and Timing:
 Light east flow will continue through tomorrow and then shift westerly with the passing of the front.
