MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 1200 Thursday

The Snapshot:  Decreasing snow showers today, dry tonight, mixed snow and rain starting tomorrow afternoon and continues into Saturday.   

The Science:  Snow will come to an end today as an upper-level ridge passes through.   A warm front will arrive tomorrow with the next round of precipitation, and freezing levels bumping up to +-4500’.   A cold front will follow early Saturday morning which will drop temperatures and begin to diminish the precipitation.

The Long Range:   Warm and dry weather begins on Sunday and will likely last through the middle of next week

Precipitation Ending at 4am:

Today 24hr water = .25 Snow = 1-3

Tomorrow’s 24hr water =  .75  snow = 6-8

Trend and Timing:
Snow showers will linger past sundown today and then taper off.  Snow returns late afternoon tomorrow.

Trend and Timing:   
Freezing level rise to 4000’ feet today and then peak around 4500’ tomorrow.

Trend and Timing:
Ridge top winds will remain gusty through the day.  East flow develops at the surface tomorrow.
