MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 0600 Saturday

The Snapshot:   Decreasing wind and precipitation today, warmer and dry tomorrow.   Warm, clear and dry weather is developing for the start of the new week.

The Science:  Well last night’s storm didn’t pan out as expected with just 3” of snow and .44” of water overnight.  The radar has widespread showers moving through the State with the weakened front heading into the Intermountain West.  The moisture will slowly taper off through the day as high pressure lifts up from the south.

The Long Range: Tomorrow will mark the beginning of a significant warming trend for the PNW; daytime temperatures could exceed 500f on Monday and Tuesday.   The week will also start out dry with clearing as high pressure strengthens and continues tracking north.   Long-range models are struggling with what happens after Wednesday; some have rain, others have the dry and warm conditions lasting through Friday.  Time will tell.

Today 24hr water = .25 Snow = 1-3

Tomorrow’s 24hr water = .10 snow = 0
