MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 0730 Monday

The Snapshot:  Light mixed snow and rain today and tomorrow. 

The Science:   A low-pressure trough approaching the PNW today will bring cool SW flow with mixed rain and snow showers today and tomorrow.   Most of the moisture will be confined to the western slopes of the Cascades with light showers east of the crest.  Cool air aloft will bring freezing levels down to around 4500’ with a general cooling trend as the week progresses.  

The Long Range:  This typical early spring weather pattern of spotty mixed rain and snow showers and periods of broken clouds will continue through the week.

Today 24hr water = .5 Snow = 2-4

Tomorrow’s 24hr water = .25 snow = 1-3

Trend and Timing:
Light rain showers today with mixed snow tonight.

Trend and Timing:   
Freezing levels will fluctuate around 4500’ with a general cooling trend through the week.

East flow will briefly develop today, and then winds will shift westerly tonight.
