MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day:  0700 Thursday

The Snapshot:  Snow showers today, dry with clearing tonight, mixed rain and snow (mostly rain) tomorrow through the weekend.

The Science:  The cold front that brought the snow last night is well east of the Cascade Mountains and is now heading into the intermountain west.  Pressure will begin to rise today as an upper level ridge builds to the south; this will bring and end to the moisture with partial clearing tonight.  The next front hits the mountains tomorrow with the rain/snow game continuing through the weekend.  Due to the freezing levels bouncing between 4500’ and 5500’ no significant snow accumulation is expected with these next several storms.

The Long Range:  Next week will start out mostly dry with more wet weather   and mild temperatures starting midweek.
