MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 0700

The Snapshot: The precipitation will dissipate through the day with another round of mixed rain and snow tonight.

The Science:  Temperatures struggled to reach to 320f  this morning with light rain falling through the night.  A weak upper-level ridge will bring another relatively dry day with light rain returning late this afternoon.  Colder air is streaming in from the NW and will allow freezing levels to drop to or just below 4000’ early tomorrow morning.  Therefore, the rain should turn to snow with snow showers persisting into Monday.

The Long Range: The long range models are changing:  Snow (potentially significant) is now expected on Monday and Tuesday night with rising freezing levels on Wednesday.  This progressive weather pattern will continue through the upcoming weekend.
