MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day:  0600 Monday

The Snapshot:  Cooler, with snow showers tapering off today.  Cold and clear weather can be expected for the first half of the week with snow returning on Thursday/Friday

The Science:  3” of snow fell overnight with partially clear skies over Stevens Pass.   A weak low pressure cell will track across the state today with light intermittent snow showers probable.  A mid-level ridge of high pressure will develop tonight which will dry and stabilize the atmosphere for a few days.   Cold, dry air will be pulled in from the NE providing low temperatures and gusty easterly winds through at least Thursday.   

The Long Range: A strong low pressure system developing off the coast of California will track north this week which will bring a chance of more snow towards the end of the week.

Tomorrow’s 24hr water = 0  snow = 0

Trend and Timing:
Snow shower today, tapering off tonight, dry tomorrow.

Trend and Timing:   
Cold air streaming in from the east will drop freezing levels during the next 24hrs.  Temperatures could dip into single digits by early Wednesday morning.
