MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 0630 Tuesday

The Snapshot:  While Oregon and Northern California get pummeled with major storms, Washington will begin to dry out.  The current light snow will taper off later today with the weather trending cold and dry for the remainder of the week; warmer with some potential snow is expected for the holiday weekend.

The Science:  Satellite radar has a band of light precipitation lifting north into the Central Cascades this morning.  Light snow will slowly taper off as a cold, dry, stable air mass moves in from the north.  Temperatures have dipped back into the teens this morning with the Frazer River outflow kicking back into action.  High pressure building off the PNW coast will produce clear and dry weather to wrap up the week.

The Long Range:  Warmer westerly flow will bring a return to a seasonally normal temperature and some moisture for the weekend.
