Time and Day: 0630
Thursday
The Snapshot: Dry, but warmer conditions will prevail
through Saturday with light snow on Sunday.
The Science: High pressure over the inland NW will
dominate the weather pattern into the weekend.
This morning’s low temperatures should be the lowest of the week with
freezing levels notching up over the next 24hrs. The flow turns westerly tomorrow as the high
pressure slowly weakens and drifts east. Most of
the approaching moisture will remain north of Stevens Pass through early Sunday
morning.
The Long Range: This
cold weather pattern that we have enjoyed for the last few weeks will come to an end this weekend. A warm moist air mass being pushed by a SW jet stream will begin to affect the region over the weekend.
The possibility of
rain will be in the discussion for Monday as a strong warm front with freezing levels
rising above 4500’ takes shape. It’s a bit
early to have confidence in the timing and details, so stay tuned as things develop.
In the meantime, enjoy the
beautiful clear weather. Did you see the moonlight last night? Amazing.
