Mountain Weather Forecast

Time and Day: 0600 Friday

The Snapshot:  Breezy east winds with lights snow shower and sun breaks can be anticipated today.   This pattern will last through the weekend with clear and dry weather setting up early next week.  

The Science:  A low-pressure system stationed over the coastal waters will spin bands of moisture (snow) into the Cascade Mountains for the next 3 days. Freezing levels will stabilize with temperatures in the mid 20’s.  Normal daytime warming and sun breaks could push surface temperatures near or above 320f .    

The Long Range:  High pressure is expected to build over the PNW starting on Monday, therefore, expect dry and clear weather for most of next week.

Today 24hr water = .25 Snow = 1-3

Tomorrow’s 24hr water = .25 snow = 2-4

Trend and Timing:
Intermittent snow showers will be common through the weekend.

Low:  24   High: 30
Freezing level: +-3000’

Trend and Timing:   
Freezing levels are expected to remain around 3000’ for the next 24-48hrs.

Ridge Top: 5-15 E  gusty

Trend and Timing:
Easterly winds will continue today.  Watch for some gusty winds along the ridge tops.
