MOUNTAIN WEATHER PATTERN

Time and Day: 0630 Wednesday

The Snapshot: Clear, 80 f and breezy this morning.  Dry with a bit of warming tomorrow and Friday.  Snow returns Saturday night.

The Science:  The models have been a bit off in their wind predictions, but according to this morning's telemetry, the wind began to pick up last night with 15-20mph gust along the ridge tops, averages still seem to be fairly light.

This dry and cold weather pattern will persist for the remainder of the week.  Gradients will ease later today which will diminish the winds and allow some warmer air to creep up the western slopes tomorrow and Friday. 

The Long Range:  The flow shift SW this weekend with higher freezing levels and moisture showing up Saturday night.  An active weather pattern returns next week with significant snow accumulation likely throughout.
