Mountain Weather Forecast

Time and Day: 0530 Saturday

The Snapshot: Snow showers ending this morning and clearing skies. Sunny and warming tomorrow.

The Science:  8” in 24 hours will hopefully give us some good skiing above the recent rain crust. A strong high pressure ridge is building over the West Coast behind the upper level westerly flow and will strengthen today and Sunday. The last gasps of light snow showers should end midday Saturday with clearing skies. Dry days and warming temperatures are in store for the next 72 hours.

The Long Range: Sunny skies and warm (7-8,000’ FLs) dominate the scene Monday and Tuesday. Currently it looks like a very warm rain event is developing for middle of next week. With any luck it will transition back to snow with at the end of the week.
