Time and Day: 0630 Thursday
The Snapshot: Mixed rain and snow showers today, somewhat
dry tomorrow with more mixed snow and rain showers for the weekend.
The Science: It is
currently raining in the base area and snowing on the upper mountain. The approaching
cold front is expected to pass over the mountains in a few hours. Once the front passes east of the crest, the freezing
levels will fall to around 4000’ and the precipitation will taper down to
intermittent snow showers. A weak upper-level ridge will provide some clearing
along with light passing snow showers tomorrow.
The Long Range: Snow showers with some mixed rain will be the weather
game through the weekend. Cooler with
continued light snow showers expected early next week.
