MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 0630  Friday

The Snapshot:  Cloudy this morning with some light snow showers and sun breaks expected for the day.

The Science:  A low-pressure system tracking up the Sierra/Cascade Mountains chain will spin bands of moisture through the PNW for the next few days.  Weak upper-level ridging will also add some clear periods to the mix. There is cooler air in the upper atmosphere making its way in; this will help what precipitation there is to be in the form of snow.  Another low-pressure system is expected on Sunday for some snow heading into the new week.

The Long Range:   Next week will start out with some fresh snow and cooler temperatures.
