Mountain Weather Forecast

Time and Day: 0615 Sunday

The Snapshot: Cool with light snow showers today, clearing Sunday afternoon. Partly cloudy with snow flurries Monday.

The Science: 5” at low temperatures in the past 24 hours has freshened things up a bit. As the cold low pressure trough drifts south and east, NNW upper level flow will bring light passing snow showers and cool temperatures to the Cascades on Sunday and Monday. Tuesday looks partly cloudy with a few snow flurries.

The Long Range: Increasingly strong zonal flow begins Wednesday and continues through the end of the week. Snow levels will creep up to around 3500’ by Thursday, but should lower again for the weekend. Significant snow accumulations look possible later next week.
