Mountain Weather Forecast

Time and Day: 0630 Saturday

The Snapshot: Continued light snow today, increasing overnight. More moderate snow and cooling temperatures Sunday.

The Science: A somewhat stationary low pressure system off the Southern BC coast should start to slowly move onshore today. This will allow for strengthening upper level SW flow, increased precipitation, and warming temperatures for Washington. As it moves onshore, it opens into more of a trough on Sunday, funneling colder air from Canada into our region. Temperatures will cool back down with continued moderate snow.

The Long Range: Variations of a low pressure trough should be over Washington for the first half of next week bringing cool temperatures and moderate snow every 24 hours thru Wednesday.

Today 24hr water = .75 Snow = 8-10

Tomorrow’s 24hr water = .5  Snow = 6
