Time and Day: 0630
Tuesday
The Snapshot: The snow has moved out for the time
being. You might want to get your powder
fix in today or tomorrow, rain will be a possibility on Thursday.
The next storm is
due to arrive tomorrow afternoon with heavy precipitation expected tomorrow night
and Thursday. A prolonged drying trend
begins this weekend.
The Science: Snow totals = 2” overnight, 8” during the
last 24hrs, with the 4 day storm total of over 40”. Clear skies are now being observed over
Steven Pass. Nice snow report Harlan. The next 24-36hrs will be mostly dry with partial
clearing under a weak high pressure ridge.
The next storm to
turn our attention to arrives tomorrow afternoon. A very strong, moist, frontal system tracking
up from the SW will bring another round of heavy precipitation and rising freezing
levels to Stevens Pass.
The cold east flow
vs the westerly warm air war will be battled again. Models have freezing levels rising to 5000’
early Thursday morning which could result in a period of heavy rain. This
system is packing a punch with 2-3” of water possible between 4pm tomorrow and
4am Friday morning.
The Long Range: The precipitation tapers off on Friday with
the weekend trending, dry, clear and warm as high pressure builds over the
PNW.
