MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day:  1000 Sunday

The Snapshot:   Dry with clearing today and most of tomorrow. Periods of mixed rain and snow can be expected throughout most of next week. 

The Science:  High pressure has set up over the PNW for a few days of dry and mostly clear weather.  East/west pressure gradients increase tomorrow which will create strong easterly winds. Clouds roll in tomorrow night in response to the next series of storms tracking up from the south.   

The Long Range:   A low-pressure system drives more warm and wet weather up the coast starting on Tuesday. Periods of rain and snow are on the docket for most of next week.

Tomorrow’s 24hr water = .10 snow = trace

Trend and Timing:
Dry today and most of tomorrow.  Light mixed rain and snow expected late tomorrow night.

Freezing level: 4500’ – 5500’

Trend and Timing:   
Surface temperatures will rise above freezing today with the aid of the sun and fall overnight for a nice melt freeze period.   Freezing levels ascend to +5000’ tomorrow and Tuesday.

Trend and Timing:
East flow will develop today and strengthen overnight.  Watch for gusty east / down slope winds tomorrow.
