MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 0630 Thursday

The Snapshot:  Snow today and tomorrow with temperatures near freezing.   Cooler with snow showers heading into the weekend.

The Science:  A cold front tracking in from the NW will push the next batch of moisture into the mountains today.  Warm SW flow with an entrained moisture stream is ahead of the front; therefore expected moderate to heavy snow with freezing levels around 4000’ through tomorrow. Once the front moves through tomorrow afternoon, the temps will drop and the snow will shift to showers.

The Long Range:   Snow showers with cool temperatures can be expected through the weekend with active weather continuing into the first full week of March.

Today 24hr water = .75+ snow = 6-10
Tomorrow’s 24hr water = .75-1  snow = 8-12

Trend and Timing:
Snow will begin mid-morning today and continue through tomorrow.
