The Snapshot: Heavy snow today with cooling temperatures
tonight, snow showers persist through the weekend.
The Science: A strong cold front will swing through this
evening dropping freezing levels and shifting the precipitation to snow showers
overnight. A warm moist airmass ahead of
the front will produce heavy orographic snowfall this afternoon and evening. Convergence Zone conditions will form behind
the front which will keep snow showers pumping through the Pass tomorrow.
The Long Range: Snow showers and cold temperatures will
continue through the weekend with a warm SW flow entering the region on
Tuesday.
