Time and Day: 1030
Wednesday
The Snapshot: Light snow showers today with another big
weather event tomorrow.
The Science: Intermittent snow showers and cooler air
filled in behind the cold front that passed east of the crest earlier this morning.
Today will be in-between systems with snow showers from time to time.
Another strong
warm front will bring heavy precipitation back to the resort tomorrow. This event will have a bit more moisture and
higher freezing levels. Heavy snow is expected
to start mid-to-late afternoon and then switch to rain sometime tomorrow
night. 5000’ freezing levels peak around
midnight and then fall to 4000’ on Friday.
The Long Range: Friday
will be a quiet weather day with some sun breaks and mild temperatures. Another system tracking up from the southwest
will bring another round of rain/snow mix to Stevens Pass on Saturday. Rain will likely start the new week with freezing
level possibly reaching 7-8K.
