The Snapshot: Light rain today turning to light snow
by Sunday morning. High pressure Monday and Tuesday.
The Science: The approaching warm front is moving over
the Washington coast at 0700am this morning. Light rain has begun at Stevens.
Unimpressive amounts of rain will taper down by Saturday midday, with the
trailing cold front crossing the Cascades Saturday afternoon and turning the
precip type to snow. Accumulations look light by Sunday morning.
A weak trough will be over the state on Sunday
bringing partly cloudy skies and some passing snow flurries. Typical April
weather.
The Long Range: High pressure builds over the PNW Monday
and Tuesday, with Tuesday looking like the warmer day. Freezing levels will be
around 5-6k feet. A warm front in SW flow is currently indicated to impact the
area Wednesday night. Stay tuned for details to emerge, freezing levels for the
middle of the week remain above Pass level, with moderate amounts of
precipitation.
