MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 0630 Thursday

The Snapshot:
Today expect abundant sunshine with temperatures climbing into the upper 30’s.   More sun and continued daytime warming is expected through the weekend and beyond.

The Science

Current Observations:
Gusty easterly winds this morning with temperatures in the low 20’s on the upper mountain.  The barometer is holding steady at 1033mbs.  The east winds strengthened overnight with 13-15 mph gust showing up on the telemetry. And yes, the sky is clear.

The Forecast:
The high pressure stuck over the PNW will continue to bring clear and dry weather to the entire state through the weekend and likely beyond.  The cool east flow is holding its own and will help surface temperature remain at or below freezing through early tomorrow morning.  Models do have the flow shifting SSW tomorrow which could bring an end to the cooler air.
