MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 0730 Monday

The Snapshot:  This dry, chilly weather will continue today with clouds and light snow expected late tomorrow night.  A return to winter is beginning to take shape with snow expected for the weekend.

The Science

Current Observations:  Burr! – 15 degrees this morning with clear skies over Stevens Pass.   The barometer is at 1016mb and climbing, the winds are light and out of the NE.  The radar has clear skies over most of the State.

The Forecast:  The high pressure cell responsible for this beautiful weather will begin to flatten and shift south over the next 24 hrs.  This will allow unstable NW flow to develop with some light snow heading in early Wednesday morning.

The Long Range:  The northern jet stream is beginning to show signs of a nice NW flow pattern developing.  With some luck, this will bring several storms into the PNW starting Friday with more following for the weekend.
