MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

The Snapshot:  Lots oh snow, then dry and cold.  

The Science

Current Observations: After Jack’s predicted lull last night the snow has picked back up again this morning.  The temperatures peaked around 32 around 5 pm yesterday and are holding steady just below freezing.  (31 base / 27 ridges).  The barometer has dropped to 1010mb’s and the winds are gusting 5-10 out of the west. 

The Forecast: The second wave of heavy moisture associated with the passing low-pressure system will bring heavy snow and gusty winds to Stevens Pass today. The precipitation will begin to taper off tomorrow morning as the cold dry airmass from the north begins to filter in. 

The Long Range:  The weather topic for the most of next week will be the fidget temperatures.  Single digits lows are expected early Monday morning with the cold dry weather is expected to persist throughout the week.
